A month after The Misfits released the Halloween 7" single, Glenn, Jerry, Doyle and Arthur Googy performed a show at The Ritz in New York on December 17th, 1981 with Heart Attack and The Undead. During The Undead's performance The Misfits began messing with former guitarist Bobby Steele (now fronting The Undead) during his set by throwing cups and bottles at him. Some of the audience decided to get retribution on The Misfits by throwing ice at them during their set. Glenn yelled at the culprits several times during the show, some of these angry interjections can be heard on the Evilive album. Then during the second chorus of Teenagers From Mars Glenn changed the lyrics to further mess with Bobby. The Misfits performed the altered version of Teenagers From Mars at several other shows within the next few months.
THIS ONE GOES OUT TO BOBBY STEELE....
Here are three transcripts with the new lyrics:
December 17th, 1981-The Ritz; New York, NY
the song is done normal up to the second chorus at which point the lyrics are changed to-
Bobby Steele's an asshole fucking cunt, he's a little fucking cunt.
Yeah, show me your cunt.
You do have a cunt, uh you ass?
You're gonna die tonight you know?
Death in New York, Bobby Steele dies.
How's that grab ya, gimpy leg and all?

December 25th, 1981-Hittsville; Passaic, NJ
Glenn introduces this version by saying, "This is called Teenagers only we got new lyrics for somebody that used to be in our band.", then the song is done normal up to the third chorus at which point Glenn yells, "Here's the fucking new words"-
Bobby Steele's an asshole fucking cunt, got a fucking asshole cunt.
Yeah, show me your cunt.
Bobby Steele and The Undead suck, they fucking suck.
Bobby Steele fucking sucks.
Teenagers From Mars and we don't care (times 3)
We don't care that Bobby Steele sucks.
We don't care (times 2)
Fuck The Undead they suck.
Fuck Bobby Steele.
Fuck The Undead.
Bobby Steele's dead, you too.
Bobby Steele's a homosexual.
Even as late as spring of 1982 Glenn was still singing some of the altered lyrics to Teenagers From Mars (removing references to Bobby Steele and The Undead) although the song had been played at previous shows with the original lyrics!
April 17th, 1982-Al's Bar; Los Angeles, Ca
Teenagers from Mars, asshole fucking cunt
He's an asshole fucking cunt
He's an asshole fucking cunt
Fucking cunt
Teenagers from Mars
You suck
One can only assume that Glenn was “busting balls” as he actually helped Bobby with The Undead’s debute release, 9 Toes Later (June 25, 1982); as far as Jerry goes it seems he has never cared for Bobby for unknown reasons.
